I only want to raise it about 4 inches. He has a bad hip. I have tried a couple things but he just knocks them over…

Get a box and fill it with newspaper until it is as high as you want. Place the bowls over the newspaper and they should not be knocked over.

If you know someone who is handy with wood you can build a small riser to lift the cats bowl about 4 inches. You can usually find scrap pieces of wood at the lumber yard and that should be all you really need besides a saw, nails and a hammer. Good luck!

While you could do the simple thing of placing it on a housebrick, if he still knocks the bowl off, I would consider purchasing a small length of 4inch x 4inch timber and varnishing it so its easy to clean. Drill through and ***** in a plastic bowl that will fit another slightly smaller plastic bowl into it. That way, you can remove the food bowl for cleaning.

A tip for the “holder” bowl is to spray it or wipe it out with a small amount of olive oil so that any food spills wipe off easily.

If you find a block of wood rather boring, wrap it in giftwrap, paint fish or mice on it etc. As long as you seal it with varnish or similar so its water proof for when you clean it.

Of course, you could just be his food slave and feed him by hand (grin)

Try using a serving tray with short legs such as when having breakfast in bed , they usually have a lip on it

One or two mats may help by elevating the bowl to a proper level for your friend . :-)

How expensive are you talking? Walmart has some wire ones that raise the food off the ground for $10.00.

You could also put some rocks underneath and glue the bowl to it- can’t tip over

    Phone books.
If he’s knocking them over, maybe the bowls aren’t solid enough? Are they just plastic? maybe you need heavier ones.
Or, you could try putting the food bowls on the bottom stair.. Kitty could sit at the bottom of the stairs and eat off the first step.
